In 1998, an inordinate proportion of our expenditure had been spent on central administrative cost.

Between 1995 and 1997, about 7% of the total expenditure was spent annually on central administrative cost. This is close to the average for districts within our size range and our property wealth category.

However, in 1998, we more than double the average with 14%.

 

TEA’s Definition of Central Administrative Cost:

"The percentage of total expenditures budgeted for central administration in the district. Central administrative expenditures include the general administration of the district, instructional leadership, and data processing services."
